Planning a T-Shirt Printing Order: Your Project Checklist

A clear brief makes a custom apparel project easier to discuss. Whether you are planning shirts for an event, branded clothing for a business, or merchandise for an organization, gathering a few details gives everyone a useful starting point.

Start with the purpose

Describe who will wear the apparel and where it will be used. A team uniform, a giveaway and a retail product may call for different styles, fabrics and design choices. Include any examples that help explain the look you have in mind.

List garments, quantities and sizes

Write down the items you are considering, your estimated quantity and the sizes you expect to need. If you have a preferred garment brand, color or fit, include it. If you are still deciding, say which details are flexible.

Share the artwork you have

Include your logo or design and explain where you would like it placed. Mention whether you are considering the front, back, sleeve or another position. Share the original artwork file when available, and explain any changes you are considering. Avoid assuming that a small preview image contains enough detail for every production method.

Explain the finish you want

If you are interested in screen printing or embroidery, include that preference. If you are unsure, describe the appearance you want and the type of garment you are considering. A reference photo can communicate scale, placement and overall style without committing you to an exact result.

Include the project date and budget

State when the apparel is needed and whether that date is tied to an event. Share a budget range if you have one. These details are useful discussion points; availability, pricing and production arrangements should be confirmed for the specific order.
